Bury Test Next For U's

McGreal's men head to the north west

12 April 2019

Colchester United head to Bury on Saturday, looking to close the gap on the top seven places as the season enters the final straight.

Despite defeat at home to Oldham last week, the U's remain only two points off the play-off spots and will go to Gigg Lane aiming to collect the win that will kick on their hunt for an extension to the league season.

They head to the north west after a difficult week for Bury, but Head Coach John McGreal insists his side must concentrate on the task at hand.

"We have to concentrate on what we do," he told the press on Thursday.

"We know we're going to be in for a tough game, no matter what's happened of late or what’s happened behind the scenes.

"Bury have had three defeats, but if you look at how they performed at our place and how they've been doing, they're probably the best footballing team in our division."

The U's fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to the Shakers earlier in the season, so will be seeking a victory of their own in the latest away day.

They will wait on the fitness of Ben Stevenson after the midfielder had been suffering from a tight hamstring after the Latics game last Saturday.

Tickets will be on sale on the day of the game, and prices are as follows:-

65+/U23s: £14.00
U18s: £10.00
