U's Flash: Stevenson Returns To U's

U's sign Ben on permanent deal from Wolves

30 January 2019

Colchester United have signed former loanee Ben Stevenson on a two and a half year deal.

His initial spell here in north Essex began almost exactly a year ago, having signed on loan at the end of January 2018 and making his U's debut on February 3rd.

He went on to make thirteen appearances in the remainder of the season, scoring twice, before returning to Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer.

Earlier this season, he spent four months on loan at Wolves' partner club FC Jumilla where he made fifteen appearances.

The twenty-one year has now returned to the JobServe Community Stadium, signing a contract until the summer of 2021, subject to approval from the relevant bodies.

Stevenson follows Abo Eisa in signing for the U's during the transfer window, and Director of Football Tony Humes is sure that Ben will be another good addition to the U's squad.

He told CU-FC.com: "We are delighted to have secured Ben on a long term deal. He is someone who fitted very well into the squad last season and will I'm sure fit in well again now.

"He, and Abo, will offer us different attacking options and that can only benefit the club during the remainder of the season and beyond."
