U23s Draw With Forest

Charles and Issa on target

11 March 2019

Colchester United U23s earned a creditable draw with Nottingham Forest in their latest away day on Monday afternoon.

The hosts took the lead after Appiah was tripped in the box and he picked himself up to slot home the resulting spot kick after 16 minutes.

However, it only took the U’s only four minutes to get back on level terms as they equalised with a goal by Charles when he converted a cross.

Just after the midway point in the second half, Colchester took the lead as Issa curled a shot in off a post from 25 yards out.

The game was to finish all square, as once more Appiah was tripped in the box and he duly put away the penalty.
