Colchester United have signed young Charlton Athletic starlet Brendan Wiredu ahead of the weekend game against Walsall.
He put pen to paper on the loan deal on Monday morning, and will be with the U's until the beginning of January, subject to paperwork approval from the relevent authorities.
The nineteen year old midfielder came up through the Addicks youth team, and has been a regular in the U23s for the past eighteen months.
He has made four appearances for Charlton across the three cup competitions, including two in last season's FA Cup.
With injuries affecting Tom Lapslie, Harry Pell and Diaz Wright, and the international call-ups for Brandon Comley and Luke Gambin, the new loanee could find himself in the U's squad for the game at Gillingham on Tuesday and the league visit of Walsall at the weekend.
