The fixtures were released at 9am on Friday morning, and the U's will also face the 'B's of Bolton Wanderers and Barrow in the first three league matches.

Bradford host the U's on the opening weekend of September 12th/13th, with the Jobserve Community Stadium welcoming Bolton a week later.

The U's then face a long trip for the third league game of the new campaign, with a trip to newly promoted Barrow on the weekend of September 26th/27th.

The eagerly anticipated Essex derby will have to wait until Boxing Day, with the U's taking on Southend United at Roots Hall.

And the return match against Southend won't be played until the end of April.

As well as facing our local rivals at Roots Hall, home games against Cheltenham and Tranmere also feature over the Festive Period.

The Easter weekend sees a long trip to Bolton on Good Friday and an even longer trip for Barrow, who visit north Essex on Easter Monday.
