On Saturday afternoon the U's will line up against Cheltenham Town to try and win three points against the team directly above them in the league.
One man who knows the Robins very well is Harry Pell, who signed for Colchester United from the Gloucestershire side in the summer of 2018.
Should Harry play again this weekend, it will be his fifth time coming up against his former side in U's colours, and he is up for the challenge.
"I went to their game on Tuesday night to go and watch with a couple of friends. They're a very good team and they have been playing well but of late I don't think that they have been playing as well as they could have, but they're still picking up results."
"It's a massive game between two really good teams that are trying to accomplish the same thing."
Cheltenham Town are currently on a great run of form that has propelled them up the table to fifth, five points and one place ahead of Colchester United.
The U's ensured that they prolonged their stay in the League Two play-off places last weekend with a hard-fought 2-1 victory away at Salford City.
For much of the second half it was backs against the wall for the U's, but they were able to hold their own and prevent the home side from getting an equaliser.
Harry explained that this was an important result for Colchester United: "I thoroughly enjoyed everything about last week's win. We showed that we can do the other side of the game terrifically well."
"It was a three points that were much needed after the couple of performances before, so for us to show up like that, and show an account of ourselves like that - it was a much-needed performance and win."
