Steve Ball previews Crawley visit on Tuesday

30 November 2020

Crawley Town are the visitors on Tuesday night as the U's look to get back to winning ways in Sky Bet League Two.

The U's dropped out of the play-off places and down to eleventh after last week's heavy defeat on the road at Exeter City, finishing 6-1 to the hosts at St James Park.

Up next for Colchester United, is the visit of Crawley Town to the JobServe Community Stadium. A win would be a massive boost of confidence and morale for Steve Ball's side against a team who aren't too far behind in the chasing pack.

Speaking after last week's defeat against Exeter, Ball was keen for his side to learn from that game and move on.

"I was shocked, disappointed and hurt after that performance. There was zero excuse for that. It's a huge learning curve for all of us, me included." - Steve Ball

"We're really going to have to go back and watch it again, and deal with it properly, deal with it in a sensible manor, and certainly learn."

"We will learn from it and we will bounce back, that's for sure."

A win could put the U's back in the play-off places ahead of the return of fans to the JobServe Community Stadium this Saturday, the first time since the end of February that supporters will be allowed to watch the U's in person.
