U's loanee Cameron Coxe was one of five players to make their debut for the club on Saturday afternoon at Carlisle, with his focus firmly fixed on the next game at Birmingham.
Cameron was named in the starting eleven for the first game of the season at Carlisle United, playing the full ninety minutes at right-wing back.
The Welsh youth international was picked out by his coach Hayden Mullins as the standout performer in the Colchester United team that drew 0-0 at Brunton Park, and was happy with his first performance of the season.
"It was good for myself to make my League debut. It wasn't an easy place to come, but I though the boys dug in deep, and we got a well deserved point.
"It was a great joy to have the fans back, especially to have the travelling supporters.
"The experience at the club makes it a lot easier for myself to come into the club and they've been very welcoming. It's a pleasure to play for this club."
Tuesday night's opponents will present a tougher challenge for the U's than they faces on Saturday afternoon, with the two leagues' difference between them, but Coxe is looking forward to it.
"We'll be there together, and we will all put a shift in for each other. It won't just be down to individual performances."
