Colchester United Football in the Community continued their traditional annual End of Year Awards for staff members in December 2020 to round off what has of course been both a challenging and rewarding year for all staff and volunteers alike.
The digital ceremony took place on the evening of the 23rd December 2020 and is an important event in the calendar which gives the chance to reflect both organisationally and individually on the previous year as well as looking forward to the year ahead and the future of Colchester United Football in the Community.
With a number of awards given out on the evening the main award of Performer Of The Year was taken home by Sports Participation Lead, Joe Hart. Joe who began his journey with Colchester United Football in the Community as an apprentice in 2015 was the outright winner in an award that was voted for by his colleagues. Community Performance Manager Rick Goldsborough had this to say when commenting upon Joe’s success –
“Since returning to coaching in the summer, Joe has displayed increased levels of performance and leadership which is clear to see in the development of Participation Programmes and his own individual successes. He’s a team member now people look to for direction and empowerment and he will only continue to develop from strength to strength moving forward!”
