Callum Called Up For Guyana

U's winger on duty for national side in World Cup qualifiers

18 March 2021

Colchester United will be without the attacking force of Callum Harriott for the next few games as he is on duty for Guyana in the qualifying matches for next year's World Cup.

Hoping to add to his seven caps, Callum has joined up with the Guyanan national team for the first matches of their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Last time Callum was on duty, he scored his first internatinal goal for Guyana in a 4-2 win against Aruba in 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic put a halt to much of the international game for a year.

The two upcoming matches for the South American side see Guyana travel to take on Trinidad and Tobago for their first match in Group F on the 25th March, with the game actually being played in the Domincan Republic.

The second of the upcoming matches is against Bahamas, also taking place inthe Dominican Republic on the 31st March.

Also in the group with Callum and his Guyanan teammates are Puerto Rico and Saint Kitts and Nevis, with the next qualifying rounds due to be played at the start of June.
