U's boss wants his side to build on Tuesday night's win

After returning to the dugout at the JobServe Community Stadium, Hayden and Alex oversaw the first home win of the season against West Ham on Tuesday evening.

The 1-0 win came courtesy of an early Armando Dobra strike to see the U's claim a first three points in the Papa John's Trophy on Tuesday evening.

And U's boss Hayden Mullins has challenged his players to take that momentum into the next game, when Salford City visit on Saturday afternoon, as the U's go in search of their first home league win.

"We know what we have to do on Saturday, we know how we are going to approach the game, and we know what areas of the pitch that we are going to try and attack. We don't want to open it up and just be gung-ho, but I think we know the areas and how we want to start the game.

"There is no pressure to run out and try and score in the first five or ten minutes of the game. There's a long time in a game to try and score. We need to be foused in our jobs and roles, in what we are trying to do and carrying out our game plan to the best of our ability.

"There are moments that you have to deal with through a season. Sometimes you could go on a run where you're not picking up as many points at home as you'd like or your picking up points away like we are at the moment.

"We need to deal with it, and make changes to affect games. It's about having calm and focused heads and attacking the game.

"We will be expecting a tough game, they have good experienced players in their squad. They've had a bit of an up and down start, but they will be looking to put that right."
