Wayne Brown's Colchester United will be lining up against Walsall for the final home game of the 2021/22 Sky Bet League Two season.

Colchester United will be looking to put on a show at the JobServe Community Stadium with the end of the season drawing ever closer.

Last weekend, the U's picked up three points from their 2-1 win on the road at Newport County.

Three more ponits from the final home match of the campaign will take the U's up the League Two table, with just the away game at Hartlepool next weekend left.

Don't forget - Immediately following Saturday's game, the Seasonal Awards will be presented pitchside, with the players also walking round to thank the U's fans for their support over the past nine months.

Back to the game itself:

The Opposition
Led by Michael Flynn, Walsall are a side, like the U's, that will be wanting to generate some momentum to take into the new season. The Saddlers have struggled this season, and suffered a torrid run of form before the former Newport County manager was appointed in mid-February.

But under Flynn's guidance, Walsall have been able to steady the ship and move away from the bottom two, easing any relegation fears that might have been lingering around the Black Country.

Barnsley loanee George Miller leads the way in the goal charts for the club this season, with eleven strikes in forty five appearances, although he is closely followed by former Leyton Orient striker, Conor Wilkinson on ten.

Going through a purple patch when Flynn joined as manager, Wilkinson had a run of five goals in six games, pushing him towards the top of the scoring charts, while Miller hasn't found the net since netting a brace at the end of February.

Another couple of recognisable names in the visitors' squad are Manny Monthe and Joss Labadie. Central defender Monthe joined the club in the summer months from Tranmere Rovers after reaching the play-off semi final on the Wirral.

Labadie joined from Newport County, with his former boss Michael Flynn joining him midway through the season. The combative midfielder has made his name with his battling play style in the middle of the park, and will be competing with Brendan Wiredu throughout Saturday's contest.

The Officials
Dean Whitestone will be officiating the last home game of the season this weekend.

His last game in charge of the U's was against Swindon Town back in 2018.

He will be assisted by Adam Crysell and Lee Venamore, with Daniel Lamport acting as Fourth Official .

Last Time We Met

The U's were on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline against the Saddlers last time out. Otis Khan's first half brace ensured the home side gained a commanding lead, with Jack Earing adding the third midway through the second half.
