As we approach the Christmas break, it brings a busy first term of Premier League Primary Stars to a close.
The Primary Stars programmes provide access to funded interventions and events for schools to engage pupils and teachers in learning.
Below are some of the stats from the first term of the academic year.
- 7 PSHE interventions
- 13 English
- 10 Maths
- 23 Teacher supported through CPD and PE Support
- 9 Anti-Discrimination Workshops
- 15 Rainbow Laces Workshops
Across all of these programmes nearly 1,900 pupils and teachers have been directly impacted by the Primary Stars Programme. Across all of these programmes we have seen some great impact on pupils, from; improving subjects grades, improving attendance, their understanding of inclusion and confidence. This is highlighted in the quote below by Mrs Edwards, a teacher at Holland Park Primary School.
Mrs Edwards, from Holland Park Primary School shared “Riley is a quiet boy who finds it hard to have the confidence and resilience to try new things. He has recently been attending the Primary Stars provision with Georgia from Colchester United Football in the Community and has really enjoyed it. This has sparked an interest in him and he now has the confidence to attend Col U sessions out of school, alongside children he doesn't know. Mum is delighted with this. Georgia has been great with him, and it especially helped that she was a familiar face to him at his first session out of school.”
Throughout the rest of the academic year, Colchester United Football in the Community will be striving to provide these opportunities to even more pupils and teachers. As well as this, there will also be chances to enter; Competitions, exclusive Premier League Primary Stars events, Primary Stars sports tournaments & festivals and themed educational workshops.
