Freddie Sears bagged his thirteenth goal of the season with the winner against Leyton Orient on Saturday afternoon.
It puts Sears now on forty-nine goals for Colchester United, with his next strike going to be a landmark one for the club.
His finish against Leyton Orient proved to be the winner, despite coming early in the game, and Freddie says he wants more goals for the rest of the season.
"Felt like I was on a bit of a goal drought before the Orient game, but I was delighted to get the goal and the win on Saturday. The atmosphere after was just brilliant, it shows what it meant to everyone.
"I'm being a little harsh on myself, with thirteen for the season but I think I should be on sixteen or seventeen at least. I love scoring goals and that's what happens when I play down the middle.
"I've been at this club a long time, and the fans have been brilliant every time. It's down to us to go and perform, and we look forward to taking on anyone at the moment.
"We need to keep winning games, and it's on to Mansfield now."
