U18s At Newcastle In FA Youth Cup

Fourth Round tie to be held at St James' Park

17 January 2022

Liam Bailey's side will travel to St James' Park to take on Newcastle United's U18 side in the Fourth Round of the FA Youth Cup.

The U's stunned Arsenal in the Third Round of the competition at the JobServe Community Stadium with a 3-0 win against the Premier League last month, and Liam Bailey's side will be looking for another top flight upset when they travel to the Magpies on Monday evening.

Originally scheduled to be played at Newcastle's training ground, the match was moved to the home of the Toon for Monday's fixture, giving an exciting opportunity for the U's youngsters to show what they are capable at the 52,000 seat stadium.

U18s Head Coach Liam Bailey, said that it would be an exciting occasion for his side.

"Everyone is so excited for the game, to play a massive club like Newcastle is a great reward for the lads after the win against Arsenal. We will go there full of confidence after the last couple of games, and hopefully put in a good performance at one of the biggest clubs in the country."

The club will be providing full updates of the game on social media, as well as a report from St James' Park after the match.
