Game For Ukraine Shirts Available

Make your bids now

8 July 2022

Colchester United's Game For Ukraine matchworn shirts are now available to bid on, with all proceeds going to the British Red Cross.

The bidding is open now, and will finish on the afternoon of our Open Day on Sunday 17th July.

Click HERE to get your bid in right now.

The online bidding will end at 1pm on Sunday 17th, but the bidding will be restarted as a live auction ONLY at the JobServe Community Stadium at 2pm to give those attending a final chance to make a winning bid for one of the coveted shirts.

Should any online bid not be beaten in the live auction, that shirt will go to the highest online bidder as at the 1pm end time.

By donating all gate receipts from their biggest attendance of the season, the U’s managed to raise more than £60,000 to help with the humanitarian aid efforts in Ukraine, as well as over £6,000 that was donated to our JustGiving page.

Colchester United billed the match against the eventual League Two champions as our 'Game for Ukraine'.

Club Chairman Robbie Cowling, who was extremely grateful for the initial response to this campaign, is urging Colchester United fans to be generous again so the club can provide the much needed support for the victims of the terrible war that is still raging in the Ukraine.

Robbie explained to the official website: "The need for humanitarian aid in the Ukraine is higher than it has ever been and I really hope the club’s supporters can dig as deep as they can to support the innocent families whose lives have been torn apart."

At the Open Day, Colchester United are hoping to raise a bit more for the Red Cross by donating all of the proceeds from the fees that external exhibitors paid to attend, plus all the proceeds from the auction where each shirt that was worn by the players during that historic match will be sold to the highest bidder.

We have the following matchworn shirts in our possession ready for the auction, and each winning bid will receive the shirt and a Certificate of Authenticity .

Shamal George, Luke Chambers, Brendan Wiredu, Cole Skuse, Freddie Sears, Noah Chilvers, Myles Kenlock, Tom Eastman, Junior Tchamadeu, John Akinde, Cameron Coxe, Donell Thomas.

There are a couple of shirts missing from the players that appeared in this game, but due to circumstances beyond our control, these shirts are not in our possession.

The bidding on all shirts starts at £50, but we would like to raise as much as possible for this worthy cause.
