Ross Embleton was recently announced as the new Head of Recruitment for Colchester United, and we have taken a look at his career path to the JobServe Community Stadium.
Forty-one-year-old Embleton has worked at clubs throughout the footballing pyramid, with most people remembering him for his work at Leyton Orient over the last few seasons.
Working at the O's as Head Coach until last February, Embleton had spent a number of years with the East London club, working with Justin Edinburgh and helping his side to gain promotion out of the National League and back into the Football League.
The U's new Head of Recruitment has also worked at Premier League Tottenham Hotspur, in the academy with the North London side. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Col U TV, Embleton spoke about helping create a pathway for youngsters into the first team with Spurs.
"My role there was to attract the top young players around London and the surrounding area, into a flourishing academy with players that have gone on to play for the first team and international football.
"Players like Harry Kane that I was able to live and see develop, it was an opportunity to see top football looks like."
Ross has further experience with other successful clubs including Norwich City and AFC Bournemouth in the academy, as well as time with the first team at Swindon Town.
