Senior U's Is Back

Over sixties' programme to return next week

23 March 2022

We are delighted to announce that Senior U’s is returning on Thursday 31st March 2022.

Every week Colchester United Football in the Community are inviting over-sixties to our community hub here at Shrub End to provide them with the opportunity to join in a group which ensures a friendly atmosphere, encourages members to socialise and enjoy the active sessions put on by our staff and external organisations.

The sessions will run on Thursday mornings between 10am-12pm, and a wide range of activities from walking football to seated exercises will be covered. This is because we want to encourage people to get active to stay fit and healthy. However, if that’s not for you, don’t worry as you are welcome to attend simply for the social interaction, refreshments and guest speakers.

Who is it for?
Anyone over the age of sixty.

When is it?
Thursdays between 10am-12pm.

How much does it cost?
It’s free!

Where does it take place?
Shrub End Community and Sport Centre, CO2 9BG. We will also go on trips to other sites.

Why should you do it?
Senior U’s is a great way to interact with likeminded people in your community. It also has the added bonus of helping you to keep fit and healthy, as we will provide physical activity for all the sessions.

How do I sign up?
You can sign up through this link, which will take you to our booking page. If you need any help please ring 01206 755160 or contact Edward.king@colchesterunited.net.

At CUFTIC we hope that by running these sessions again, we will make a positive difference to the lives of retired or semi-retired people who haven’t had the chance to be involved in groups like this since the start of COVID-19.

Ed King, Health and Inclusion Officer at Colchester United Football in the Community said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be able to offer this session again, we hope after months of lockdowns this will be a place where people can connect and make new friends.”

If you have any questions please feel free to contact Ed King – Edward.king@colchesterunited.net
