Colchester United midfielder Dan Chesters says he’s excited to battle to get into the side when the U’s travel to Barrow this weekend in the Sky Bet League Two.
The League action continues this Saturday as the U’s travel to the North West to face in form Barrow who’ve started the season with five wins and two losses and currently sit third in the table.
The U’s will be looking to bring three points back to North Essex following a last gasp equaliser against Hartlepool last weekend.
Chesters also played against Brighton U21s last Tuesday in the Papa Johns Trophy and looked very sharp against the seagulls’ young players.
“It was just good to play in front of the fans and get some minutes, hopefully I can come on again at the weekend and show everyone what I can do.
“I didn’t know too much about League Two football when I came but now I know it’s a bit rough, tough and it’s intense, it’s not all about playing football on the floor, sometimes you’ve got to run in behind and chase long balls and get it to the strikers, it’s not all pretty football.
“Hopefully I’ll do really well this season, score lots of goals, get assists and implement myself in the team and kick on.”
