Award Double For Junior

Junior named EFL Young Player of the Season

24 April 2023

Colchester United youngster Junior Tchamadeu has been named the EFL League Two Young Player of the Year.

At the EFL Awards on Sunday night, nineteen-year-old Junior Tchamadeu was named the Young Player of the Year for League Two, having been also named in the League Two Team of the Season.

It’s the second consecutive year that Junior has been successful at the EFL Awards night, after last year collecting the LFE Apprentice of the Year title for League Two.

Tchamadeu has been an integral part of the U’s defensive line this year, and has thrived off a move to wing-back – netting five goals this season, Junior has made forty-five appearances in all competitions, taking his U’s tally close to 100 before his twentieth birthday.

Everyone at Colchester United would like to congratulate Junior for these prestigious accolades.
