Colchester United take on Crawley this evening in an extremely important game in League Two.
Colchester United make the trip to Crawley in the hopes of making themselves all but safe in the relegation battle. However, it won’t be easy, Crawley Town are fighting for their lives and will throw everything at the U’s this evening.
Colchester United Head Coach, Ben Garner, has spoken about Crawley Town’s strengths and how much he respects the opposition, knowing that to get the win the U’s will have to play very well. Garner has also spoken about the U’s current away form and the three away matches that he’s been in charge of this season and believes the U’s can make it another good away day this evening.
“We’re looking to make it three in a row, I’m really pleased in terms the wins and the clean sheets, the effort that’s been put in by everyone, staff, and players but we’re certainly not resting on our laurels. We’ve got a quick turnaround into Crawley who are obviously fighting for their lives as well, trying to stay in the division so we’ve got full respect for them and the situation they’re in as well and we know we’re going to have to go there and play very well, compete really well to win the game and that’s obviously our aim to go and do that.
“It’s always a case of looking at the strengths of the opposition, making sure we stop those but then focus on our strengths as well, we’ve had three really good away performances since I’ve come in, a draw at Orient, a draw at Stevenage and a win at Salford, three very difficult places to go. We’re looking to make it another good away day on Tuesday night. We need to understand them and appreciate their strengths but also have a focus on how we win the game.”
