Colchester United wing back, Junior Tchamadeu, has spoken ahead of the U’s game against Sutton United on Saturday.
Junior Tchamadeu has explained that the tireless work that’s been put in over the course of a difficult run in is the reason why the squad are unbeaten in their last seven games, and has also mentioned that they’re completely focussed on Saturday’s match and they’re not watching the other results.
“We’ve obviously been on a good run without losing and the last three games we’ve kept a clean sheet so that’s credit to the work we’ve been doing on the pitch and credit to the whole group. We’re not really looking at any other results, we’re just focussing on ourselves and on how we’re going to beat Sutton on Saturday, because that’s the most important thing for us as a team.
“I feel like that’s our mentality right now, we want to save ourselves and not have to rely on any other teams. For the last couple of days in training that’s what we’ve been focussing on, ourselves and how we’re going to stop Sutton, how we’re going to put them to bed and save ourselves.
When asked about the side’s current clean sheet record:
“It’s huge, and as we all know it starts from the front as well, from the strikers all the way through, back to Tom, and he’s been incredible since he came in, three clean sheets, and he’s obviously made a lot of important saves for us. As a whole team I think it’s so important that we stick together and do all the defensive work together as a team.”
