U’s striker Samson Tovide is set for a spell on the sidelines.
After picking up an injury in Saturday’s game against Crawley Town, Samson Tovide is set to be out of action for 2-3 months with torn ankle ligaments.
Tovide came off worst after challenging with Dion Conroy in front of the dugouts, with the U’s man needing help to leave the field after sustaining an injury to his left ankle.
It will be a blow for Matty Etherington, with Samson hitting five goals in twenty-one outings this season; the U’s number 9 penned a new deal with the club in the summer after a breakthrough campaign last term.
Should everything progress as planned, rehab for Tovide’s injury will put him in line for a return to action in February/March 2024.
