Ben Atkinson will officiate Colchester United’s clash against AFC Wimbledon on Friday 29th December (KO 7:45pm).
He will be assisted by Hugh Gilroy, Anthony Da Costa and Charles Breakspear.
This is Atkinson’s first season overseeing matches in League One and League Two. In the 2022-23 campaign, he officiated seven National League games before moving up a division.
Interestingly, he was in charge of the U’s last clash against the Dons on 15th August 2023 at the JobServe Community Stadium, which ended in a 2-0 defeat for the North Essex Side.
Atkinson issued seven yellow cards in that match. So far in the 2023-24 campaign, the official has officiated eighteen games, issuing ninety yellow cards and five reds.
