The U’s latest January signing, Fiacre Kelleher, has given his thoughts on the move and his keenness to hit the ground running against Harrogate on the weekend.
Colchester United will look to make it two wins from two in 2023 when they travel to Harrogate on Saturday, Fiacre Kelleher is the newest man in the building and is over the moon with Head Coach, Matt Bloomfield’s philosophy.
“The has been in the pipeline for about a week I think, just after Christmas I heard from my agent, and then a few days later I had a really good chat with the manager. That kind of swayed me, he told me about his philosophy and about his plans and things, and I was really excited about it so that made my mind up.”
When asked about the U’s league position potentially putting him off, the defender had this to say,
“No not at all, I’ve been at Macclesfield when we’ve been down there so I know exactly what it’s like and I’m well prepared to fight tooth and nail for everything and obviously from my chat with the gaffer we’re expecting to get out of this so I’m well prepared for what’s ahead.
“I’ll definitely be ready, [to hit the ground running] I can’t wait to get started and Saturday is the perfect opportunity.”
