Colchester United forward, John Akinde has spoken about playing alongside Samson Tovide, getting regular game time and his Relationship with Matt Bloomfield.
John Akinde has been a crucial member of Matt Bloomfield’s squad during this winning run and has been instrumental in the strong start to 2023.
He’s not just scored goals, but he’s set them up too, notably his lovely chested touch to Junior Tchamadeu which was weighted perfectly to allow the wing-back to unleash a wonder strike.
He’s spoken about his relationship with the boss having previously played with him as well as his partnership with the young striker Samson Tovide.
“I think we’ve performed really well, I think we have been performing really well in previous games, just not getting the results, so it’s good to get the results as well.
“I just want to help the team get the three points whether that’s scoring assisting, playing well, whatever it is, it’s just nice to be a part of it.
“We help each other, I try to give him [Samson Tovide] as much advice as possible, but he’s a great player in himself, really good, he’s a handful for the other teams to play against so I’m really enjoying playing with him.
“That’s what the gaffer said as soon as he came in, he doesn’t see me as someone who comes on, we’ve played together before, he knows what I can do, and he just wants me to bring that to the table and we were on the same page so I’m really happy to get that opportunity and repay that faith.”
