Colchester United Head Coach, Matt Bloomfield reflects on a fast start to the transfer window and looks ahead to Harrogate Town.
The U’s will be looking to continue their winning start to 2023 when they face Harrogate Town on Saturday, the U’s boss has spoken about the early transfer window action, and preparations for Harrogate and the respect he has for Simon Weaver.
“Yes I’m really pleased with it, first and foremost, I like the process that we have here at Colchester… we’re aligned with what we want to do, we have constant meetings planning for the future and we’re really pleased to get Connor through the door last week unofficially, he was here and having a look around and to get Fiacre and Arthur through the door as we have done so early in the window we’re really pleased to add them to the group, I think it needs to be said as well how pleased I’ve been with the group over the past few months, I feel like their performances and the structure of the team and the way they’ve been playing has really been growing.
“We’ve watched their games [Harrogate] and analysed as diligently as we can, they’ve got threats in their team and we know all about them, we know what they’re going to bring and we respect that totally. The job that Simon [Weaver] has done there over many years has been absolutely fantastic and the levels that he’s reached with that football club has been brilliant, they’re a good League Two team now and we know the threats they have in their team and we have to be respectful of that but we have to be confident in the performances that we’ve been giving.”
