Jayden Fevrier has spoken ahead a tough game away to Leyton Orient this weekend, the versatile addition has come off the bench a few times this season to help the U’s.

Fevrier was initially signed to the U21s side from West Ham in October, since then he’s worked his way up to become the U21s captain and then eventually named in the matchday squad on Boxing Day, and since then has managed to bank a decent number of minutes coming off the bench.

Fevrier talks about the goals he set at the start of the season, breaking into the first team after captaining the U21s, and what he feels he can offer to this Colchester United squad.

“The plan this season was to break through [into the first team] now it’s about kicking on, trying to get more minutes, and making an impact on the team.

“Whenever I play for the U21s I try to press hard and show that I can be levels above to try and get into the first team squad so it’s a good opportunity to show what I can do.

“I love it here, the people the staff, everyone’s really friendly and they’ve welcomed me really well and it’s a good group of players as well, I enjoy playing with them.

“It’s a bit different [the change in head coach] because I’ve never had a change of manager that quickly so it’s a new experience for me, but I’m enjoying every second of it and Ben’s a good gaffer to play under.

“Most of the time I’ve come on we’ve been losing or drawing, so it’s about trying to create, and that’s my game, I want to try and get goals and try to change the result.”
