U's Internationals In Action This Evening

England and Wales youngsters set for further games

16 November 2023

Joe Taylor will be aiming to add to his tally of eight goals for the season when Wales U21 host Iceland tonight.

The U’s top scorer joined the club on loan from Luton Town in the summer and made an instant impact with a goal on his debut in South Wales, against Cardiff City in the Carabao Cup.

And this evening he will be back in Wales, at Newport County’s Rodney Parade with the Welsh youngsters taking on Iceland U21s in their fourth game of Euro U21 qualification, 6:00pm KO.

Taylor, who has already earned two caps for the Young Dragons, will want to get more minutes and goals in a crunch match at the top of Group I; Iceland sit top on six points, Wales are second with five.

Wales have another home match coming up next week, when they take on third-place Denmark on Monday evening, again at Newport County.

Owen Goodman remains on the standby list for England U20s, as they take on Italy in the Men’s U20 Euro Elite league at Doncaster Rovers’ Eco-Power Stadium this evening at 7:00pm.

England also have a second game next weekend, travelling to current league leaders Germany on Monday evening.
