Will Greenidge sat down to preview the U’s clash against Barrow, taking place on Saturday at the JobServe Community Stadium (KO 3pm).
The defender is enjoying a good spell with the North Essex side featuring in plenty of First Team games, and the twenty-one-year-old is willing to play anywhere on the pitch to help his team.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s match, Will said: “There's been quite a few games recently, but we’ve got to enjoy it when we do get a win like Tuesday. So obviously after the game, we'll be excited, but I think it’s one of them you’ve got to take the momentum with us into the game on Saturday.”
He added: “Ever since the gaffer has come in he’s put his trust in me, I’m starting every game and I just want to keep playing.
“I feel like I'm at my best when I'm playing regularly, Saturday, Tuesday, whenever it is just getting minutes, playing off a few positions, but just playing anywhere, just trying to help the team as much as I can.
“I think it shows the versatility I think I have. I've always been able to play a few positions and I just want to help the team out and play wherever the gaffer wants me to play and hopefully it keeps going.”
The defender added that the U’s have to focus on their own game when they face opposition situated higher up in the table.
He said: “You don't want to change how you play too much for the other teams. We back ourselves against anyone if we do things properly and how we play, might tweak a few things if they offer a different threat, but I think overall we want to play our game against them and make them change for us.”
