Colchester United succumbed to a 3-1 defeat against Morecambe on Saturday afternoon.
The U's were defeated at home for the first time since 19th August when they faced MK Dons, losing by three goals to two.
Ben Garner's side were trailing by three goals, despite having man advantage after James Connolly was sent off for the Shrimps.
The U's got a goal back through Cameron McGeehan on seventy-three minutes and had a chance to reduce the deficit further in added time, but Noah Chilvers failed to convert from the spot.
