Samson Tovide says the mood is high amongst the players as they prepare to take on Notts County on Saturday afternoon.
The young forward was speaking to the press, and is set to make his fiftieth appearance for the club on Saturday.
The visitors come into the game in fine form, with five wins from their last six, putting them top of the pile in the fourth tier, but that won’t put off the U’s players says Tovide.
Colchester’s number nine says that will only act as motivation, with the U’s aiming to make it three home league games without defeat when Notts County arrive at the weekend.
“Notts County are obviously a good side, sitting top of the league with some good results and having scored a lot of goals. But I think our result last weekend didn’t speak for the performance and we have to put that right this Saturday.
“It’s all about staying focused and concentrating for the whole ninety minutes and we’ve worked on that, the team has come together.
“I could have had a couple of goals on Saturday, but I have to just keep doing what I’m doing and getting in the right positions, and I’ll get more goals.”
