Pre-Match Thoughts

Academy Transition Coach Dave Huzzey provided some pre-match thoughts ahead of Tuesday's semi-final - watch them in the above video.

Huzzey said that getting knocked out at this stage of the competition provides additional motivation for both himself, and the squad: “It puts a bit more fire in your belly, definitely. I went to the final between Braintree and Concord last season and you want to be a part of those occasions, especially with the game being played at the stadium.

“In the last round we made a bit of a racket with the drum to my right hand side, so if we can get a bit more atmosphere like that then it will be excellent.”

As has been the case in the last couple of rounds, the U’s will likely draw on some first team players who’ve had restricted minutes over the last few weeks.

In previous rounds, the likes of Tom Smith, Owura Edwards and Brad Ihionvien have all been given opportunities to prove what they can do.
