Sam Purkiss will officiate Colchester United’s home clash against Gillingham at the JobServe Community Stadium on 1st January 2024 (KO 3pm).
He will be assisted by Andrew Aylott, Stephen Finch and Ryan Whitaker.
Purkiss has been officiating in League One and League Two since the 2019-2020 campaign.
So far this season, he’s overseen eighteen matches issuing eighty-seven yellow cards and eight reds.
The last time Purkiss refereed a match involving the U’s, Colchester succumbed to a 3-1 home defeat against Morecambe on 7th October 2023.
