Richie Watkins will officiate Colchester United’s Sky Bet League Two clash against Swindon Town on Saturday 6th January 2024, in what will be Danny and Nicky Cowley’s first game in charge of the U’s.
He will be assisted by Leigh Crowhurst, Conor Farrell and Alan Young.
Watkins is a fairly inexperienced referee who has only been in charge of one Legue Two match prior to this Saturday.
So far this season, he has overseen fourteen matches – twelve in the National League, one in the FA Cup and one in League Two.
In those games, he issued forty-six yellow cards and one red.
