U's winger Luke Hannant is looking to take the positives into Colchester United's next game, a home cup tie against Gillingham in the Papa John's Trophy.
Both fans and players alike would have been disappointed to learn the news that Colchester United's game against Sutton United was postponed on Friday evening, with everything prepared for a Saturday afternoon at the JobServe Community Stadium.
But the players must put that behind them now as they go in search of a cup victory against League One side Gillingham on Tuesday evening, with U's winger Luke Hannant, looking forward to the game.
"We want to get the three points for the fans that are coming to every home game. We can definitley hear them in them in the crowd, so hopefully we can get the three points and give them something to cheer about.
"I've been working as hard as I can off the pitch to get myself ready for whenever I'm needed and whenever the gaffer calls on me. I'm going to have to be patient now, the team's doing well, so I'm going to do all I can to help the lads do well and pick up as many points as we can.
"I got ninety minutes last week for the U23s. It's unusual for me to get so many minutes this late into the season.
"Hopefully if we keep creating the chances, we will get the goals. One has to drop sooner or later, but we have to take the positives that we are getting into those areas, and creating as many chances as we are."
