Colchester United announced Danny & Nicky Cowley as the new management team on Thursday 4th January.
Arriving on an intial two-and-a-half year deal, Danny & Nicky picked up a point in their first game at the club. Fighting back from two goals down, a ninety-fourth minute equaliser gave them a point on the road at Swindon.
Earning plenty of experience in their early management days in Essex, Danny & Nicky had spells at Concord Rangers and Braintree Town before making a name for themselves at Lincoln City.
Gaining promotion from the National League in their first season, they won the EFL Trophy in their first season back in the EFL before a title-winning season in League Two in 2019.
The following season, they departed for pastures new, and Championship side Huddersfield Town, helping the Terriers to maintain their second-tier status having been relegation-threatened earlier int he season.
Their next club was Portsmouth in League One, where they held a good win ratio, but narrowly missed out on the play-offs at Fratton Park.
