Midfielder’s thoughts ahead of Red Devils’ clash

12 April 2024

Noah Chilvers was on press duties ahead of Colchester United’s Sky Bet League Two clash against Crawley Town at the Broadfield Stadium on Saturday 13th April (KO 3pm).

Previewing the clash, Colchester’s number ten said: “I think if you go back to the start of the season, people probably weren't predicting that Crawley would do as well as they have. So they’re a team that has got to be respected but a team that we know that we can compete with.”

Noah also spoke about the U’s most recent clashes with Wrexham and Stockport adding his side “should have” gotten something out of them.

He continued: “We’re playing another team on Saturday that we can compete with, but I don’t think it's about competing with teams at this stage of the season, it's about getting in there and getting the business done that we need to do and that's getting three points.

“So, competing with teams is all well and good, but we've got to go there and win. Competing and going toe to toe with these two top teams, Stockport in particular, and the first sixty, or seventy minutes of Wrexham has given us good confidence as a team.

“But like I said, it's not enough at this stage of the season. It's not really about performance, it’s about the result.

“We've got the confidence from the performances but three points is what we’re going to Crawley for and however that comes I’m not that fussed.
