Jay Mingi was on press duties ahead of the U’s last clash of the 2023-24 season with Crewe Alexandra at the JobServe Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon (KO 3pm).

Jay on the importance of Saturday’s match:

“We're ready to go and make it right. We know what we need to do. It’s a good group of players, so we're just going to go there and aim for the win.”

Jay on the frustrating campaign:

“It's been a bit frustrating, I'll be honest, but obviously we take a lot of learning from it about where we can make it better. So yeah, it's frustrating, but it's part of the game.”

Jay on Tuesday’s defeat to Doncaster:

“We took the learning from it. We're frustrated with the outcome of the game, but we now know what we need to do to turn it around and make it right. We don't really have time to dwell on it. We've just got to look forward.”

Jay on his versatility on the pitch and playing in different positions:

“ I always like learning new positions and I feel I'm a quick learner and I just sort of learn on the job. I've enjoyed it and it also taught me a lot about myself as an individual and that I'm capable of doing a lot of things. It's been good, it's been fun. I've enjoyed it.”
