Jayden Fevrier will be hoping to make his fiftieth appearance for Colchester United when the U’s take on Walsall at the JobServe Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon (KO 3PM).

The former West Ham youngster was on pre-match duties ahead of the clash and here is what he had to say.

Jayden on recent game postponements:

“It feels like an opportunity missed, a chance to win some points and climb up the table and get out of the position that we’re in but it’s also an opportunity to prepare for upcoming games.

“We’re going to have games coming thick and fast so we can pick up a momentum if we win a few and hopefully go on a run.”

Jayden on other results not going the U’s way on Tuesday:

“We’re not going to be naïve. We know we’re in a position that we kind of have to watch other teams but if you look at the table, we have two games in hand, so it’s in our hands, it’s our destiny, so we just have to do it right on and off the training pitch to win some points and get out of it.”

Jayden on recovering quickly from recent injury:

“Throughout the whole season my goal was to make an impact and I was gutted to miss the Salford game. I thought I could have affected that match but it was good to be back against Barrow and in that thirty minutes you could see what I’m about and hopefully I’ll play again on the weekend and hope the team win.”

Jayden on potentially making his fiftieth appearance for the U’s:

“Last year I only had about eleven or twelve appearances and this season my goal was to establish myself as a starter and I think I’ve done that. I’m really proud to hopefully make my fiftieth appearance on Saturday and it’s a great achievement for me.”
