Having recently come back from injury, Manny Egbo will be hoping for more minutes when the U’s take on Barrow on Saturday afternoon at the SO Legal Stadium.
The midfielder was on pre-match duties, previewing Colchester’s longest away trip of the campaign.
Manny on Barrow’s form this season:
“Barrow have done so well since we last played them. They had a few games on the bounce, but they got a bit of a winning streak going and then they dropped off a little bit but they're still up there.
“They’re a very good side as we know from the first time we played them. But, we've worked hard on them in training - how we use our principles to go out there and give them as tough a game as possible and bring back the three points. And that's what we'll try to do.“
On returning from injury:
“It's been a long-ish eight weeks. I've just tried to get my head down, knuckle down and try to come back as fit and strong as possible and I'd like to think that I've done that.
“I've had a lot of help, not just from the staff, the physios and interns, but also from the other lads who have been out with me. Kels [Fiacre Kelleher] was out for a long stretch with me and Samson [Tovide] as well, so we've just tried to help each other and I'd like to think that I'm ready to, when called upon, if called upon to help the team out.”
