Simon Mather will officiate Colchester United’s SkyBet League Two clash against Mansfield Town on Saturday 23rd March at the One Call Stadium (KO 12:30pm).
He will be assisted by Kevin Howick, Grant Taylor and Scott Tallis.
Mather took charge of his first ever League Two game when the Colchester United faced Harrogate Town on 9th March 2021. The U’s succumbed to a 3-0 defeat then with the official issuing two yellow cards.
Since then, Mather has officiated three matches involving the North Essex side with the U’s coming out victorious in all of them:
- Barrow 2-3 Colchester on 10th September 2021 (eight yellows, two reds)
- Harrogate 1-2 Colchester on 2nd April 2022 (three yellows)
- Hartlepool 1-2 Colchester on 28th January 2023 (three yellows)
So far this season, Mather has taken charge of twenty-eight games issuing 149 yellow cards and ten reds.
