Colchester United finally captured the signature of John Akinde during the January transfer window in 2022.
The experienced stiker joined on a two-and-a-half-year deal after leaving League One side Gillingham the same day.
Akinde joined after competing in League One for the previous three seasons, with the Gills and gaining promotion with Lincoln City.
The 6ft 2 striker is well known for his campaigns at Barnet, where he netted eighty-seven league goals in 166 appearances, and helping the Bees to gain promotion from the National League.
John's previous clubs include Crawley Town, Portsmouth, Bristol Rovers, Brentford, Wycombe Wanderers and Bristol City.
