During the Easter Holidays, Colchester United Community Foundation staff have been busy delivering a range of activities to young people within our community. During the Soccer Camp activities at Phillip Morant School one afternoon, Colchester United midfielder Noah Chilvers and striker Tom Hopper visited all the children to check in on how their camp was going, answer questions, pose for pictures and sign programmes for all involved.
U’s striker Tom Hopper shared; “It was great to come down to the Easter camp and see the great work the Community Foundation staff are doing in the community. I loved speaking to the kids and answering their questions and seeing how much they enjoyed their activities!”
U’s midfielder Noah Chilvers also shared; “It was really enjoyable as always to spend time with the children and staff from the Community Foundation. It’s great to answer their questions and see them smiling and happy whilst taking part in the football activities.”
Colchester United Community Foundation work in partnership with the Players Football Association (PFA) in working with Colchester United players and getting them involved in community activities.
Colchester United Community Foundation Chief Operating Officer Rick Goldsbrough detailed; “The relationship between the Community Foundation and the Colchester United first team is a fantastic one and gets players out and about within our communities and contributing to the great work we do on a daily basis. Thank you to Tom and Noah for their visit over Easter, we have plenty more visits to come before the end of the season too!
