Colchester United defender Fiacre Kelleher says that he is expecting a good atmosphere at the JobServe Community Stadium when his former club visit on Saturday afternoon.

Kelleher was a consistent starter for Wrexham in his single season at the Racecourse Ground in the 2020/21 season, making forty-three outings for the side.

However, this season, Fiacre’s campaign has been hampered by injuries, limiting him to just ten appearances, returning for the last two over the Easter weekend.

“It’s always tricky playing on Friday and Monday over Easter, especially with the travelling on the Sunday. Sometimes it can be a bit tricky to get your legs going, but that’s what we’re paid for.

“So we took that one [1-1 draw vs Tranmere] on the chin, and we know it’s not good enough. That’s in the past now, so we have to make sure it doesn’t happen again and it’s all to play for on Saturday.

“Our focus is on this game on Saturday – we know it’s going to be a sell-out crowd, so it’s going to be a good atmosphere I’m hoping. We just have to make sure we turn up and start fast.

“Wrexham are a good side, and they probably have some players that are above this level. But at the same time, we have players that are similar in my opinion. We have to make sure we rise to the occasion and leave everything out there.”
