Colchester United will be hoping to make it back-to-back wins when Walsall visit the JobServe Community Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Matt Bloomfield’s side collected another three points on the road on Saturday afternoon, with a 1-0 win over Grimsby Town thanks to Tom Hopper’s first goal in blue and white stripes.
And another game against a side directly above the U’s in the table beckons, with Walsall making the trip from the midlands to North Essex on Valentine’s Day.
The U’s will check on the fitness of Cole Skuse after the experienced midfielder was taken off early on Saturday afternoon; Matt Bloomfield has a ready-made replacement available in the form of Arthur Read who played the last seventy minutes in Skuse’s absence.
The Opposition
It’s sixteenth vs fifteenth in Sky Bet League Two with Michael Flynn’s side travelling to North Essex for the next action in February.

Both sides come into the game after good results at the weekend; the U’s after a slender win at Grimsby Town, while the Saddlers held the league leaders to a 1-1 draw at home.
Joe Lowe opened the scoring against Orient before a late equaliser for the visitors, but it was a pleasing result nonetheless for Flynn’s team: “On the balance of the two halves it was a fair result. It was a bit frustrating, but stick with us.
“The games are tough – we’ve had a horror of a run at the minute, but we’re coming through it okay. We’ll see who’s fit and ready for Tuesday, but it’ll be a tough one.”
Busy throughout the January transfer window, the Saddlers captured the signatures of two Forest Green Rovers forwards that made it into last season’s PFA League Two Team of the Year.
Jamille Matt and Matty Stevens arrived on permanent deals at the Bescot Stadium, with both featuring in the last two matches for Michael Flynn’s side; Walsall had a big hole to fill after the departure of Danny Johnson after the expiry of his loan deal from Mansfield Town.

Former U’s man Brandon Comley has been an important player for Tuesday’s visitors with twenty-nine outings in all competitions, playing the ninety-minutes against Leyton Orient on Saturday afternoon.
And there’s another U’s connection amongst the Saddlers’ squad, with Isaac Hutchinson leading the assist chart for Walsall. The elder brother of Colchester United youngster has nine goal involvements (three goals, six assists) in thirty-one matches, creating the most chances of anyone in his side this season.
Last Time We Met
Frank Nouble was on target as Wayne Brown's side picked up a point against the Saddlers. His early goal was cancelled out in the second half by Tom Knowles as both sides shared the spoils.
