Connor Hall has been named as Colchester United's new Captain, with Noah Chilvers as his Vice-Captain.
Thirty year old Hall has worn the armband, whilst on the pitch, for the three pre-season fixtures so far, and will be the U's captain going into the League Two season itself.
He joined the club in the January transfer window, and showed his leadership qualities with commanding performances as the U's maintained their EFL status with a few games to spare.
This is his first stint as a permanent captain in his career, but he isn't a stranger to leading out a side.
He explained on Thursday lunchtime: "I've been captain on a few occasions when others haven't been selected for individual games, but this is a first time thing for me."
"I’m absolutely buzzing to be given the armband now. Last season I was given it at Bradford away and it was a really good feeling – and for the Gaffer and the players to think of me as a captain means a lot to me.
"I really wanted it as well. I spoke to the Gaffer last season about it, and I’m really pleased and honoured to get it. It’s a great feeling, I love the responsibility and I want to be able to lead the team next season.”
